08:01 pm - Question
QUESTION:

Does anyone out there have a Razr2 phone who can answer a question for me?

Is there a reason my inbox will only hold 20 text messages, no matter how long they are? This is really annoying.

My outbox has 58 messages in it without any sign of stopping. But inbox holds 20 and then starts bouncing them back and I don't get them. This is an inconvenience, to say the least, and a real hassle at the most!

So, is there some way to increase my inbox size? It's not a memory issue, because, like I said, outbox keeps saving messages, even if I clear outbox, it only holds 20 in the inbox, and I don't have the limit of pictures saved, I have no ringtones or extra games or anything that take up space.

If someone sends me a long message, it might come in two or three beeps and fill up my whole box, and I might not get the whole message.

So is it just me, or does every Razr only hold 20 lousy messages in the inbox? Seems stupid to me.

Help!

Okay, I know I haven't written anything in a while and I have oodles to say and tons of photos to share (TONS!)

But right now I am super-sick with what I think is the flu, but I just wanted to thank all of you who recommended Ny-Quil to me last time I was supersick and couldn't find anything to help me feel better, because if you remember, all that Non-Drowsy stuff hyped me up and made me feel absolutely worse-than terrible, so after a while of drugging myself into numbness with benedryl, I asked my mom to go pick me up some Ny-Quil,

and it's great. Thanks. It made me feel so much better. Just like in the commercials. Like that commercial with the noisy roommate, who's like "You'll sleep like a little baby! Like a little lamb!" It was totally true.

So thank you, Ny-Quil recommenders, and I promise to write more later when I can actually see straight and when I can actually breathe. :D

(PS. otherwise things are pretty good)

08:48 am - Ah.... spring.
I woke up this morning to the sound of a mockingbird singing and singing over the sounds of a distant train whistle.

Wow, two of my favorite sounds in the world.

Mr. Mockingbird is singing and singing and singing, still!

I laid my head on the windowsill in the cool spring sunshine, smelled the clean air and listened to Mr. Mockingbird sing. He sang well over 5 dozen tunes before he started repeating himself. Though, he didn't imitate any Nokia ringtones or car alarms like the last Mr. Mockingbird we had in residence. I'm SO glad to have a mockingbird around, they are so awesome. Sometimes they sing at night, too, which is so cool to fall asleep to. We never had them around during my childhood, but they are around now... though I haven't heard one singing right outside my window for a few years.

I sat there with my head on the window so long that my cat came up to me and went "mew?" with a definite question mark on the end as if to ask me wth I was doing.

I told her I was listening to the mockingbird sing, and that he was the best bird becase he sings everything for everyone. :)

I hope I hear him again soon!

More later. :P Sleepy.

EDIT: THE EXACT SECOND I pressed "post" on this post, my bliss was broken by bouncing basketballs and noisy hoodlums. :( Dudes, it's not even 9:00am yet. Go back to bed. Please get arrested soon.

*cries* omg, I can't tell you how much that upsets me. I just want some peace! I'ma go live in the woods and be a hermit and surround myself with deflated basketballs. Yeah.

06:13 pm - Hmm
The other day, it was nice outside, so I decided to hang all my bed pillows, couch cushions, etc. out on the line so they would air out and smell nice. So I'm hanging the pillows on the line and beating the dust out of them and whatnot, and a little girl is playing on the playground and comes over to the fence with her little friends.

"Why you puttin' all dat stuff out there?" she asks me. A feeble attempt to ignore her is overthrown when she shouts "HEYYYY! Wat are u doinnnnnn'?"

Ahh, she spoke fluent lolcat.

Now, I realize that overly-strict and stupid homeowners associations and mothers who haven't the time to teach their daughters about such things are to blame for this darling snowflake's lack of knowledge of clotheslines. Personally, I wouldn't live in a neighborhood where I couldn't hang my laundry outside. My sheets will always smell clothesline fresh, darn it. Also, my own mother had me hanging stuff on the line before I was tall enough to reach it. I took great pleasure in washing my doll clothes and hanging them on the clothesline. Blah blah.

Anyway, I told the little child "When you hang stuff outside, it makes it smell nice."

"Whaaaaaa-aaat?!" The small tot says incredulously.

Again, I repeated, "Being out in the sun makes things smell good."

Getting a little nervous here, I start to stutter and can't go on or think of any way to explain it any more clearly.

She looks at me with stubborn and wary disbelief coupled with I think a bit of fear.

She runs off quickly.

Good to know that my ultimate goal of being a creepy old maid crone with a dozen cats who is frightening to small children is already manifesting so early!

Metropolis is on. :)

And it's the original cut! Yay!

SO awesome.

EDIT: 1:35 am

BAD BAD BAD.

I think my camera is really dead this time. :( It's doing this terrible "making a grindy noise and lens not coming out to full extension" thing again. :( :( :(

I looked online about it, and it seems to be a zoom mechanism issue which is apparently very costly to repair.

Darn, couldn't it have waited until I graduated so I could ask my parents for a new one? :(

Now with a dead laptop AND a dead camera, I'ma be a very sad kitten. :(

02:30 am - wow ok
Wow, ok.

It's amazing how much 6 cups of tea between 2 - 4 o'clock could make me feel so hyper at 2:31 am.

And two of those 6 cups of tea were supposedly decaf.

BUT.

Right now I am so hyper I could either run a marathon or write a book.

Or sit here and watch a Marx Bros. movie until 3am. Which is what I am doing.

I am SO AWAKE. But the enter-nets is not very inter-taining at the moment.

I have quite a bit I haven't written about but it's not going to happen right now. :p

12:19 pm - Minor announcement
I think I am going to do a minor friends list cleaning.

If someone is on my list and:

- I don't know them very well
and
- they haven't updated in over a year

(EDIT: fulfilling BOTH of these requirements)

I'ma cut them.

If you are one of those people and you happen to read this (doubtful) and you happen not to want to be cut, please let me know and I'll add you right back!

This is more to protect various seecrit information than a matter of not liking anyone who might be cut. It's nothing personal.

Just let me know. :)

I just realized I forgot about Harikuyo AGAIN this year.

I even saved up all my broken needles in a special box, and I swore I wouldn't forget it!

But I did. ;___; Too much stress.

Oh well, Happy Belated Harikuyo all you seamstresses, tailors, and cosplayers!

Another article on Harikuyo.

01:15 am - Movies!
I'm watching this old silent pirate movie called The Sea Hawk (1924), and it's really pretty fantastic and exciting! Lots of swashbuckling, some romance, intrigue and backstabbing, and some pretty serious themes for 1924.

Example: The hero, made a slave by the Spanish, is shocked that the people whipping him and treating him inhumanely are Christians, when he himself is a Christian. (Quote: "Christians' inhumanity to Christians!") So, in his rage, he converts to Islam with the encouragement of his Moorish benchmate on the slave ship.

Interesting, to say the least.

I love pirate movies and I also love silent movies, so yay.

Don't know how it's going to turn out, I'm really tired x__x I hope I can stay awake.

Also this one guy in this movie... his character looks constantly shocked. And he's so good at looking shocked. I mean, the whole movie he's been like O____O It's hilarious. Every time they get a close-up of him I swear I about laugh my bum off. Srsly. He's not supposed to be funny. But if you look up "O___O" in the dictionary, I'm pretty sure you'll find this guy's picture.

oh oh, and the costumes are fantastic!

In other news, it's very cold.

--------------------------------------

PS. My friend Tim ([info]castleorange) just started a new LJ travel blog about his upcoming cross-country trip. I've known him for almost 10 years, I can't even really remember how I met him! So, he's gonna stop in and say hello. If you're interested in his adventures, check out his El Jay.

02:38 pm - I <3 Food
I just made myself an awesome lunch and I wanted to write down what I did so I'll remember it was tasty and remember to eat it again.

1 cup plain organic yogurt
1 banana
handful organic almond-vanilla granola
organic raisins
honey-toasted sunflower seeds   +
---------------------------------
OMG SO YUMMY

Also 1 handful organic unsalted cashews on the side. :)

Okay, this was really good. Whenever I get hungry I try to snack on something healthy to reduce my butt size. I've lost about 1/2" - 1" off my waist, which is good. I think I will try harder. I love plain yogurt :3 I'll eat it without anything added, but of course it is really good if you have some strawberries and vanilla.

These organic raisins I got at the Co-op are seriously the best raisins I have ever tasted in my life, and I'm not a big fan of raisins. They are insanely good and they go great in yogurt. I got everything there except for the sunflower seeds and the banana.

I would probably do 80% of my grocery shopping there if I could actually afford it.

Anyway, twas really tasty.

Last night as a snack I had a couple tablespoons of yogurt just mixed with cinnamon and nutmeg. It wasn't the most successful thing ever, but it was good. Generally I'll just add fruit or granola.

Okay, that's all.

The benedryl experiment last night seems to have worked, but I am a weakling when it comes to drug-type products, and I am soooooo drowsy.
